Marc Wold, PhD
Principal Investigator
Dr. Wold studies DNA replication and repair since he was an undergraduate researcher.
Past Lab Members:
Ran Chen Postdoc-student Ran was originally from China and received her BA in biology and chemistry from Wartburg College. Ran studied the biochemical and cellular function of aromatic residue mutants of human RPA.
Cathy Hass Molecular Medicine Graduate Student Cathy was an Iowa native who had a BS in biochemistry from the University of Florida. She studied repair scientific functions of RPA and defended in the spring of 2012. She then joined BioAmber in Minneapolis, MN as a research scientist.
Shane Solst Rotating Graduate Student, 2014 Shane was a graduate student in the Biosciences Program. He majored in biology and chemistry from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Xun Allison Chi Rotating Graduate Student, Fall 2012 Allison was from Shandong, China. She received her bachelor's degree in biotechnology from Zhejiang University. Her rotation project focused on characterizing modified forms of RPA.
Arpit Sharma Rotating Graduate Student, 2012 Arpit was a first-year biochemistry graduate student from New Delhi, India. He received his bachelor's degree in biotechnology from Jaypee University. His rotation project focused on making and characterizing modified forms of RPA.
Laura Fischer Undergraduate Laura was an undergraduate Biochemistry major from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Laura learned molecular biology and protein biochemistry making hybrid forms of RPA.
Amy Hanson Undergraduate Amy was a human physiology major from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She learned molecular genetics and protein chemistry by making and characterizing mutant forms of RPA.
Cody Meidinger Undergraduate Cody was a biochemistry major from Bettendorf, Iowa. He worked in the lab in the summer and fall of 2014 learning molecular genetics by making novel forms of RPA.
Kirubel Hailu Undergraduate Kirubel was a biochemistry major at Graceland University. He spent his second summer in the Wold lab establishing an fluorescence-based DNA polymerase assay.
David Janizcek Undergraduate David was an integrative physiology major from Bettendorf, Iowa. He worked on making and characterizing mutant forms of RPA. David started medical school at the University of Iowa in the fall of 2013.
Ebosetale (Ebose) Okoruwa Undergraduate Ebose was a biochemistry major who obtained his BS in the spring of 2014. He then worked in the Wold lab over the summer of 2014 before starting dental school at the University of Iowa that fall.
Arthur Wold City High Student Arthur spent the summer of 2013 learning molecular biology and making new mutant forms of RPA.
Drew Gartner City High Student Drew spent the summer of 2013 learning molecular biology and making new mutant forms of RPA.
